New Check Format Advisory

Please be informed that starting May 1, 2024, old format checks will no longer be accepted by any RCBC branches as mandated by the Philippine Clearing House Corporation (PCHC).

Found below are the changes in the new format:

  • Individual border for each character on the Issue Date Format in MM-DD-YYYY with Date Format guide indicated below
  • Box border for signature line

Also note that only under the following conditions are old check formats allowed to be accepted beyond the given deadline:

  • Post-dated checks (PDCs) stamped “Warehoused” by the Bank prior to the date above.
  • PDCs without the “Warehoused” stamp but with a Unique Identification Code (UIC) that indicates receipt by the Bank prior to February 11, 2019
  • Manager’s Checks (MCs) issued by the Bank bearing the Waiver statement and check features required prior to the issuance of CICS OM No. 19-030
  • Dated on or before April 30, 2024 and presented to the Presenting Bank for deposit prior to the 180th day from its issue date.

For computer generated or printed checks by either the Bank or the Client, compliance with the MM-DD-YYYY format is mandatory as well.

If the date figures or numbers appear to be printed outside, above or below the appropriate individual boxes, it shall still be considered as acceptable UNLESS the numbers encroach other fields rendering the date unreadable.
