NOTICE TO THE BORROWING PUBLIC

Republic Act No. 9510, creating the Credit Information Corporation (CIC), and its Implementing Rules and Regulations, mandate the submission and disclosure of basic credit data (both positive and negative), as well as any regular updates or corrections thereof, to the CIC. The following entities are required to submit this data to the CIC within 30 calendar days from the time it is made available to them by their borrowers: This basic credit data may be shared only with lenders and credit reporting agencies that the CIC has duly authorized or accredited for the purposes of establishing the creditworthiness of the borrower in connection with a loan and/or credit facility application. The data may also be later accessed by the borrower or the credit account holder.

The CIC is a government-owned-and-controlled corporation that is envisioned to be the leading provider of independent, reliable and accurate credit information in the Philippines.

Philippine Clearing House Corporation (PCHC) issued a clarification memo on Non Acceptance of Check with Erasure, Alteration and/or Deficiency, amending the following:
  1. add the phrase: "regardless of any signature or initials that appear to indicate authorization of the alteration or erasure" to Item 1.a; and
  2. replace "the Issuer of the PDC" in the first line of Item 2.b with "the Issuer of a stamped PDC" and delete "received prior to effective date" from the third line of said Item.
Thus, CHOM No. 15-460 shall now read as attached.

NOTICE TO ALL RCBC CLIENTS

In compliance with Philippine Clearing House Corporation (PCHC) CHOM No. 15-460 dated August 24, 2015, please be advised that effective JANUARY 4, 2016, CHECKS WITH ERASURE, ALTERATION AND/OR DEFICIENCY (incomplete information), will NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED FOR CLEARING.

For additional details, kindly refer to the attached PCHC memo/guidelines for all member banks.

NOTICE TO ALL RCBC CHECKING ACCOUNT DEPOSITORS

In compliance with Memo Circular No. 2636 of the Philippine Clearing House Corporation (PCHC), we are mandated to comply with the new check design. This is in preparation for the launching of an image-based clearing settlement or Check Image Clearing System (CICS) to speed up the check clearing process across all banks.

Please continue to use your old checks. We shall process your future check orders in the new check design.
