| DOUBLE VICTORY FOR RCBC MYWALLET |
RCBC MyWallet, the country’s only free ATM that does not require any maintaining balance, recently scored a double victory when two big groups signed up for its services, which effectively opened an opportunity for the bank to market to a huge untapped market. The Retail Banking Group forged a co-branding agreement with the UST Alumni Association, which will make the RCBC MyWallet the official ATM service provider of the organization’s over 250,000 members. As part of the deal, RCBC will provide USTAA its own specially designed membership card, which members can also use as their ATM.
Also signed recently was a similar agreement with OmniPrime Marketing Incorporated, the ticketing service provider of the MRT. Under the partnership, MRT passengers will soon be given RCBC MyWallet ATMs, which they use to gain entry to the train terminals. Passengers holding RCBC MyWallet cards will now only have to flash their cards in the turnstiles to automatically have their balances debited the fare amount and be allowed into the passenger loading area. To keep on using their cards, cardholders will only have to reload every time their balances are used up. The agreement gives RCBC access to the MRT’s regular patrons who approximate about 700,000 daily.
RCBC Executive Vice President and Retail Banking Head Ismael R. Sandig says, “This is just our way of fulfilling President Lorenzo Tan’s ambitious vision for RCBC to serve 5 million customers in 5 years. I’d say we’re on our way.”

RCBC MYWALLET WINS PRESTIGIOUS GOLD QUILL MERIT AWARD
|
RCBC MyWallet, RCBC’s free ATM product that does not require any maintaining balance, recently won a Gold Quill Award of Merit from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). The revolutionary cash management product won in the Economic, Social and Environmental Development Category of the highly competitive communications management contest.
RCBC MyWallet was cited for its potential to encourage Filipinos to save and “for creating value for the wallet of customers.” With its win, RCBC joined companies such as Globe, Smart, ABS-CBN and GMA 7 that won a Gold Quill for programs implemented in 2007. Only two other banks were given citations for two minor programs they mounted last year.
The IABC is a global organization of some 14,000 business communicators and the Gold Quill is considered as the group’s highest recognition. EVP and Retail Banking Head Ismael Sandig and VP/Corporate Communications Head Joee Guilas accepted the award on RCBC’s behalf. VP/Channel Management Head Remo Garrovillo is the project proponent of the RCBC MyWallet. |
